Ice Spice doesn't have a hit. A hit single masks a lot of problems on this. Sexyy Red sucks, but Get It Sexyy is a hit. I don't know how she convinces boys out here to sing her songs but they do*. Her using Tay Keith a lot is smart, I get that Riot is her producer but his shyt isn't hitting like that.

If whoever handles her career was smart, they shoulda did what Pop Smoke did and that was zag and make conventional rap records. If she has all these influences that caused her to rap, you don't hear them because she's tryna chase a TikTok viral moment. Get a Murda Beatz track, a Harry Fraud track, Wondagurl, ATL Jacob, whoever. She doesn't have a song that shows, "I can do this too." It's to the point where even if Ice Spice features on a record, it's gonna sound like every other song she's done.

Riot don't gotta be the reason she stay on. As far as I'm concerned, Riot did his job leading up to this record. Did Pop Smoke use 808 Melo on every song? Not on the album. That shyt had more variety. Riot helped established her sound, but that shyt didn't produce any hit this time out. Unless he's crankin out banger after banger (which he isn't), not every song has to be produced by him.

She’s such an enigma, cause in the weeks leading up to her “album”, she’s had all types of promotion but I never actually heard her songs. I only saw her in the general media and that’s it. Her “relationship” with Central Cee was promoted, and then once her project dropped, “Ice Spice confirms she’s only friends with Cee and never been anything more”. LOL

People literally cheer harder when she shakes her ass than when she raps.. I’d say her falloff is inevitable. Chick better start doing skits or a podcast or some shyt lol. Her music ain’t got staying power. The in her mood song is the only one I can stand before turning the whole radio off.

Not to mention despite every other industry trend in other genres being real lyricism, majors refuse to give rap lyricists shine. It's on purpose at this point.

Whats even more blasphemous is Pitchfork giving her the highest rating of any hip hop album this year.

I want Ice Spice to win but the industry is really doing her wrong. She should have just been an independent act.
