That’s 1/3 of the album that’s not that great the rest of the album is incredible.

my all not gonna be talking shyt about something dope.

lyrcially, flow wise, content wise, & beat wise.
With hit songs on the album and 2-3 concept tracks. Y’all bugging. half the nikkas that didn’t like the don mega shyt were white people.

Hello is the only track that I've played since like 2000, you shouldn't put such songs as an intro when they are 5 times better than the rest of an album

He should've worked more with Dre around that time, could've possibly dropped a classic. They were in the zone during the up in smoke tour with the collabos.

yeah he signed to see and nothing came if it that is a huge L. Dre def could have had a classic ice cube album, smh. Cube and see have a weird relationship tho.

Its hard to explain but...

If you notice, with Cube, mid 90s onward, what he started to do....was he would rap...but he would force raps to fit the rhyming word...as opposed to rapping, and using creativity to tie in great substantive raps with rhyming words

So hes basically rapping and letting the rhyming end word take the rap where it takes it

whereas real creative rappers (early cube) would have a message, theme, narrative etc to his raps and be creative with how it all ties together

all facts.

Thanks for bumping this lol definitely gonna check those albums again.

My opinion hasn't changed on them. We gotta remember tho, since this thread, Everythang's Corrupt has come out.

Cube fans, where does that album fit in his discog and is it better than either or both of the War & Peace discs?

Death Certificate
AmeriKKKa's Most/Kill At Will
Lethal Injection
The Predator
War & Peace: Vol. 1
Laugh Now, Cry Later
Everythang's Corrupt
Raw Footage
War & Peace: Vol. 2

Everythang's Corrupt was a surprise sleeper much like LNCL. Cube's lyrics still can be very corny but the content, production and his mic presence were all on point and made it a solid listen top to bottom.

Once you embrace the Don Mega persona, The War disc is a great album. His writing (?) wasn't quite the same but still sharp and still conceptual. The Peace disc was cool but only had about 3-4 songs I go back to regularly.

I was listening to Vol 1 over the weekend.
I was looking at the production credits and Budda ( one of Dr Dre’s ghost producers) worked on some of the records.
I was thinking to myself damn this sounds like Dr Dre produced half this album

When the album initially came out Cube was considered washed up, but he bounced back in the early 00s

I almost want to make a separate thread about this but I think there's this weird moment when you listen to a new album from one of your favorite artists and hear a bad song for the first time. Or a string of bad songs for the first time. Cube's first two albums are flawless classics. The next two are some of the best non-classic albums in rap IMO. So going from that to songs about Frankenstein, and the corny outdated flow by that era....it's more jarring when someone who has never really missed starts missing badly.

The War Disc was very inconsistent…”Greed” bangs and “Ghetto Vet” is one of my all time favorite Cube tracks but a lot of the album was forgettable:francis:
