The call up is premature.
Dominguez wasn't really playing well at AA until late July and August.

They pushed him to AAA and while he's done well there -- it's only 8 games at that level.

Part of the reason to bring him up to the Major League roster is to retain interest in the Major League club. But part of it probably has to do with Harrison Bader not being a good enough hitter this season. They cut him, and as good as Bader can be defensively, Dominguez can probably match that or play close to it. So why not take a chance and let Dominguez get some at-bats at this level to prepare for 2024?

Rookies struggle all the time, so that's what fans should expect out of Jasson Dominguez.
It'd be a miracle if he comes up and has a Shane Spencer-type September.

So I’m looking at Gleyber’s numbers and I don’t think it would be bad to stick with him as the second baseman. He’s delivering more power at that position than anyone in the majors, he’s been hitting really well for the past 12 months by way of average, he makes a good amount of heads up plays (though he makes some head scratchers too), and he always seems to hit well with men on base. He’s not old either. It genuinely might be the only spot besides right field they don’t absolutely have to address in the next year or so. I doubt they’d find any meaningful improvement at the position and there doesn’t seem to be a huge market for him either. I say stick with him.

Gleyber doesn't pass the eye test at all the way he used to. He's not the player he was expected to be, yet he'll expect to be paid like a core member of this team. What we saw in Judge 's absence is that he can't be one of your 4 best players offensively and have it be a good thing for the team. The fact that he's the best offensive player on the team outside of Judge and he has little to no value makes you wonder whether they should give him an extension. If Gleyber's extended, that has a trickle down effect on the rest of the system and the trade chips.

If they wanna keep him, nothing I can do about it, but then get Peraza the hell outta here. Make a decision and live with it. 95% both of them are here in spring training next year because they'll play the "build Peraza's value up" card.
