Dumbest braintrust in baseball
Everything they say they do is aided by analytics but every year we see these decisions pan out to being absolutely stupid and ineffective. Incompetence has been allowed to prosper with the New York Yankees.
I get no joy from watching this team anymore.
That’s the big difference between now and the old heads who were (understandably) mad at George for being a terrible owner in the 80’s. They missed the playoffs all the time but that was with no wild card so 90+ wins meant nothing and at least George changed things up when something didn’t work. They had a 97 win season that didn’t even get them there.
They can’t keep asking us to tune in or go to the stadium when the team is awful in every facet of the game, they won’t play the young guys at their actual positions, and most of the roster is full of old or bad players who won’t get any better and are playing out of position while obviously having no future on the team beyond this year. The lack of accountability from the top down has turned the whole organization toxic and I don’t think it can change until the whole franchise is cleaned out top to bottom. Even Michael Kay has said a few times the past 2 years how alarming it is that nobody gets better when they join this team anymore but a lot of guys get worse. Something needs to change.
