Ehhh. What about Steph then? I don’t think you can say there’s anything dysfunctional there.
I’m talking about his peers - LaMelo, Ant & Ja
I think even with his personality, if he was consistently #2-3 in the league vs #4-6, he would at least get the push, even if it didn’t work. Same reason he’ll likely never be a league MVP.

It’s crazy because he is great on paper. He just doesn’t have the trophies that get voted on. He has the numbers and accomplishments already. He’s a HOFer at 26 with no MVP. Even with the basketball HOF being pretty open, that’s a hell of an accomplishment
The irony is the current ROY favorite and current #1 pick favorite are both Tatum stans
I agree that he’ll probably never be the face of the league but I think he has a larger fanbase than he’s given credit for

I’m not sure anyone compares these players as his peers tbh. He’s heads and shoulders above them as far as perception and prestige. He wants to hit the heights of the Steph’s and KDs

No one is a fan of Ant because of his multiple baby mamas. Kids aren't rooting for Ja because he wants to be NBA young boy. I don't know what LaMelo's dysfunction is supposed to be.
