I understand why OGs praise 90s hip hop as much as they do

You gotta understand who controls hip-hop and the major media outlets to understand why hip-hop is the way it is now.

You gotta understand the power of music itself to grasp why hip-hop turned to what it is now.

You gotta study and gain knowledge of the psychological warfare tactic "media propaganda" in order to understand why hip-hop went from being a beneficial "pro-black" artform with the ability to uplift, motivate and aspire to what it is now.

Its deep:

I'm from the 90s the kids are WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY more wild with it now:

Diss record on top of the OPP's grave :bryan:

nikkas are very wild with disrespect towards each other because white daddy is cool with it.
HOWEVER,when it comes to going at establishment or anything that white daddy might have a problem with, nikkas in check.

Preface: I used og instead of old head cause that seems to carry negative connotations lol, and it deads any serious convos cause everybody's on the defensive.

Also, while I think it can be objectively argued that the 90s were indeed the GOAT decade , it's by no means my favorite. I was raised on that early 2000s shyt so, nothing from any Era is gne ever touch that music. For example, no album from the 90s is fukkin wit Thug Motivation 101 imo. :hubie:

With that out the way, the reason I think that Era gets all the adoration and respect it deserves is because the rappers, and culture as a whole, were really wit the shyts back then when u really think about it. Meaning they were just as pro black as they wanted to be. From the attire

........ on down to the real nikkas they bigged up their bars.

"Indeed we like Khalid Muhammad MCs make me vomit; I get controversial..."
-Fugees (How many mics)

"Bang bang, boom boom, ping ping I'm the black
Whiteboys got a magazine and don't know how to act
I'll attack and make u vomit
Down wit Khalid Abdul Muhammad. "

-Scarface (Hand of the Dead Body ft Ice Cube)

Hell, even SHAQ was wit it :bryan:
"Everybody said I got fat, yep, so did my wallet
Still ripping rhymes, dropping bomb like Khalid Muhammad. "

-Def Jef on Shaq's I Know I got skillz

And then u got songs like this :
:bryan::bryan::bryan:

Ice Cube's 'True to the Game' video:

15245983612513694.gif

:obama:

And then you had nikkas like Brand Nubian, Public Enemy, KRS-one , X-Clan and many many more.

And if that was too preachy for the nikkas in the street, you had Makaveli himself.
It's my theory that bruh was playing the whole thug role up to gain the influence of them folks in the mud and then drop that black knowledge on em in a way that's digestible without being corny wit it.

The gems spit on this joint, :wow:

In conclusion, as much as I LOVED the early 2000s, that was the beginning of the buffoonery. nikkas was off that shyt with real substance and it was all about flash and flossing. We as a whole lost that rebellious spirit (cause m'fers would've popped off fr back then) and we've only become more docile as the years pass. And are now in an Era where weirdos like this :

:mjlol::mjlol::mjlol:

And jew simps like this :

:mjlol:

And homos like this:

980x.jpg

Are wats moving needle.

So let's pour out a lil liquor for the 90s, the last real Era.

:mjcry:

I hear what u saying, but nikkas was weirdos back in the 90s too... And still most rappers was still p*ssy in the 90s.

The music now just different

The powers that be got it where they want it at.

That's not the intent of this thread tho....im not arguing the quality of the 90s over the quality of (insert decade)....im talmbout the content and how the culture as a whole was super pro black. In contrast into wat it's turned to now

Honestly It was a good time to be a black teen. The music was unapologetically ours

I was just listening to this while doing some cardio
