Couple things:
1. The Chinese, like other Asian ppl (Japan, South Korea, etc), prefer their action heroes to look more Steph Curry (baby-faced/boy'ish, slender) than LeBron or the Rock (brolic, ruggish).
2. America doesn't groom Asian actors anyway. Just mostly white ones and plucking already polished white and black Brits as a short cut.
So finding a proficient English-speaking boy-band looking non-mixed Chinese actor to throw hands as a charming franchise lead was always gonna be a challenge.
Damn near 25-30 years too late for Jackie Chan, Donnie Yen, and Jet Li.

when I saw the trailer I was like the father is evil like ra's Al ghul, but the son is good and they fighting over arm bracelets that amplifies chi or some shyt?!? Man the stunts and martial arts better save this shyt cause internally I'm like...
the stakes is so garbage. When other MCU films is dealing with the ramifications of a fukkING MULTIVERSE and Kang.

I think all Marvel movies having bright colors and the same tone plays into it
