All Star
I feel the difference between the problems we faced back then and now seems to be that in today's world we have to fight an uphill battle with cosiderably less black self respect and group solidarity.
a moral and spiritual revolution is critical for our survival. Being beat down with the rod of white supremacy for so long I sometimes lose hope that we could overcome the virulant strain of antiblackness feed to us from the cradle to the grave.
Our grandmothers and grandfathers weren't bombarded with propaganda of us being pimps, thugs, thots, bedwenches, dealers, low life's, addicts, and miscreants to the degree we are today. This is not an indictment on hip hop by the way but ALL the images and sounds most black ppl consume daily....
Just my 2 cents
