I think it's becoming evident that the next battleground is Africa

I'm talking about from a worldwide standpoint, not just from Western. We know the US, Europe, China, Iran, Arabs, and Foreign Islamists have been securing alliances and resources there, but now Israel has secured exclusive contracts with South Sudan for oil.

South Sudan signs oil deal with Israeli companies - UPI.com

We obviously have the situations in Mali, Algeria, CAR and Somalia. Nigeria might be looking at a potential civil conflict.

It's going to be proxy wars all over that bytch, a lot more so than in the past IMO.

Thoughts?

I wouldnt say MORE than the past since all those places you named are having conflicts with the same causes as their previous conflicts for the most part. These wars didnt completely stop, they just slowed down and now theyre speeding back up..

Imperialism never stopped it just put on a mask of "representative democracy"

armed conflict spurred by outside interests has been occurring in africa since the beginning of the cold war. all you're seeing is an escalation of hostilities.

I understand. I meant it as total warfare bleeding through multiple borders.

I'm also talking about direct intervention by these outside interests, like what the French are doing in Mali, but in a much larger way.

China and the US are already using the continent to play economic chess. Iran and Israel are in Sudan and South Sudan respectively.

So then that just means CNN is now capturing the events as breaking news instead of throw away material at 2am in the morning

Man, miss with that shyt.

I'm talking about a global war through African states. The Middle East has been in that position since the 80s, and SouthEast Asia before that.

I'm not saying violence, warfare or even foreign intervention hasn't happened in Africa before this, but it's becoming much more apparent. US created AFRICOM, China is interested in sending large amount of troops to the region.

China is gonna flood Africa with troops to protect it's interests there.
now that China is the world's manufacturer it needs resources like Rare Earth Metals that are found in Africa.

I was going to say the same thing. In addition, the US military has implemented new recruiting programs to increase African Americans in special forces in part for missions in Africa so they can blend with the local population.

This is the new scramble for Africa

I'm not so sure, they haven't done it yet.

I think they know the West will fukk their resources and economy up more than it already is if they do.

lol ur talking to a Liberian immigrant right now

nothing you're saying is really "news" and or more apparent to me

but I'm interested in the theories that will come forth from this thread

sooooooooooo what would you say is the catalyst for the increased militarism???

but before you answer that, are you going to continue to use the word Africa to characterize the entire continent as a homogenous environment???

I'm talking about almost the entire continent. This is only my opinion. I see things escalating to a point where these conflicts will bleed over into other countries.

I think that while rare earth minerals and other resources are the primary fuel to the fire, it's mainly going to about diminishing influence in the region and proxy wards. Only difference I think that will be different is we start seeing more of what France just did but on a much larger scale.

Just my opinion.
