I mean breh... There's a reason why it's hard to duplicate Patti Labelle.

And correct me if I'm wrong but didn't Quik &/or Dre find samples, then have a band recreate them? I still think you need to pay of the OG artist/label
Yep. It’s the difference between sampling and interpolation

Koala is that powerful? You can play keys and stuff in there or do you use other apps for sounds?

I have sampletank and a few synth ones but it's been so long lol.

I like sampling, but I don't understand why brehs don't create their OWN samples...stop letting these people Tax you...

You like a patti Labelle/Anita Baker line and want to sample it? Get a chick from around the way who's voice sounds similar to sang something similar...shyt will sound Even better and give off a nastalgic feel, but be totally original .
Bro most of the times no one has to clear anything. Especially most people on here, no offense to anyone here. No one even goes after anyone that isn't making any money or getting major views or streams off their work. It's not even worth the hassle. People should make the kind of art they love, and if people are coming at you for sample clearance issues, then that's a good problem to have. Handle the problems as they come. But sniffling your own creative options out of fear that something might happen (that likely won't) is backwards, IMHO. That being daid, sample packs can be super dope, and making your own samples can be super creative as well.

You'd even be surprised how many bigger songs aren't cleared at all.

Not even gonna lie...the joint in the OP is making me consider looking at beat machines.

In 2 minutes, I got 4 loops running in my head :wow:

That you not really adept.

If you dug in the crate frfr.

You would know this.
as early as flash theory of four outta six. Plus Marley marl classes on beat breaks.
to even his modern internet virtual series.

Y'all need to dig more.

As it is obvious.

Y'all lack.
Plus it is obvious to everyone else. Plus no one in the know is fooled.
Plus can tell you not really skilled frfr.
in a three of the four audio skill based pillars in the culture of hiphop.

Samples, sample packs, creating your own samples, etc etc. People should just make what they want, when they want.

All this right here.

There's wild samples on classic albums that have been out for 30 years, that still haven't been cleared. That's why Buckwild said he still won't name names when it comes to certain records he used. Premier has a lot of those too. He said one time that he'll just deal with it if they ever call him about it, but he wasn't trying to clear everything back in the day. The rule back then was you weren't even supposed to ask people what they used. Today, people want to look it up and snitch. Sh*t is weird now.
