In fact, if you study Nipsey's lyrics, since The Marathon mixtape, his lyrics started to take on a more fatalistic meaning

he always rapped about the imminent death that was coming to him by way of death threats

to the point where on Mailbox Money, he declared

"I'm going to do it big until they fukking kill me"

We saw the imminent death coming to Nipsey when he was getting death threats on the Higher video shoot, which took place only a few months before his assassination I believe.

I wont talk about the inconsistencies in the narrative that has been given to us

but yeah, Nipsey was a marked man for a long time, but decided to stay exactly where he was at
