in detroit the apocalypse has already happened. when I see these pictures of a destroyed america I wonder "what can we learn from this?"

this abandoned wasteland of a city...its beautiful though in an ugly way. some of these pictures remind me of a surrealist painting or something. if this isn't an example of urban decay I don't know what is

I am rooting for Detroit to make its comeback... It's a city that saved the world twice. There are people there that deserve a shot at a decent life and it would be disgraceful to let it go down the drain.

I'd like to visit someday. My Detroit brehs... when's the best time of year to visit? Where should I stay and go?

It's funny because I've been to other cities and I guess it never really dawns on me just how bad the residential areas are around here until I hear it from another perspective. I guess I always figured that every bad area of a city looks the same but that's not the case, apparently. I remember someone running an article where they had pictures of Detroit and post-war countries (or something like that) and they were trying to ask the reader if they could discern which was which. That's when I really started thinking, "Damn...I guess it IS that bad, huh?" LOL.

Come around here at night though. In some neighborhoods, they don't turn on the streetlights at night so it's literally pitch-black around here. shyt's crazy. I'm definitely going to leave one day but I feel that living here makes you respect hardship. If you can make it out here, you can make it almost anywhere.
