As far as I can tell, Suge only had LA dudes shook even in his prime period. He was an anomaly for being a guy with deep street ties in a position (label exec) that was mostly occupied by Jewish nerds. Not very hard to muscle up on those types of dudes/rappers whose raps are all fiction.
Case in point, when he came to New York in the '95 for those Source Awards he was a ghost. I don't even think him or his artists booked hotels in the city itself. For all that tough talk, he was nowhere to be found at the parties/clubs. I was there, in the mix. One of my friends was a goon for hire and the people he was fukking with had him patrolling the streets looking for Death Row. Yeah, it was an away game for them, but from my understanding they weren't even looking to body dude, just pull his card.
