Like Timb & Missy were really gonna do a posthumous Aaliyah album.....
Well, I'm pretty sure if anyone had the power to do so over the past several years it's Timbaland. He changed the sound of urban music in the mid 00's....was responsible for a ton of record sales.
But let's be real here,.....who's to say that even if she was still alive, he'd even still be working with her?
He doesnt even work with Ginuwine anymore, and they broke each other into the game. One would not hve blown up w/o the other and from what I read, it's Timb who is the one who separated. On one of Ginuwines latest albums Timb has a track on there, but it sounded like a complete garbage throwaway beat.
Nor does he even work with Missy anymore.
On top of all this, you already have the Aaliyah vocals, thus written songs(which is what Missy would be doing mostly), so why would you need her? You can't make Aaliyah sing/say anything differently b/c she's not here.
I'm just sayin...
At this point nobody should be feeling the need to have any kinda opinion on this.
Missy and Timbo have barely said shyt. Her immediate family have been quiet but her brother doesn't seem happy about it.
Until we know what's actually going on here stop with this speculative bullshyt.
Do you know why Timbo didn't touch her material for 12 years knowing how potentially lucrative it was? No, so sit down, and hush up about it until we get more info.

As far as we know her uncle has allowed Drake who harbours an obsessive appreciation for her to executive produce a posthumous album. They released a single which Drake used as a vehicle to air out his petty spat with Chris Brown. They then released a statement suggesting that Missy and Timbo will be involved, which was subsequently denied by the pair.
Let's leave it at that.

So them doing it without Timbo and Aaliyah is not a problem. The dopest thing would be if all the old producers she ever worked with got together. From Kells, Timbo, JD to those unknown dudes she was fukking with on her last album and some new shyt from 40.

They want a new fresh sound, not a nostalgic sound therefore the new producers and shyt.

I agree...and Aaliyah probably would have never even worked with Missy and Tmbaland like that anyway if R.Kelly wouldn't have fckd everything up with her in the beginning...

it's more of a matter of respect than anything.. Drake is literally looking like this obsessed fanboy making an album of a woman he didn't know, never met...all the while disregarding every artist she did work with...and her family isn't involved with it or supporting it either.
if Timbaland,Missy etc. didn't do it, why is it cool for a nikka who didn't even know her to make money off it?
