Sergey "Krusher" Kovalev (25-0-1, 23kos) Chezefukkblistan, Russia
Backstory
The Philadelphia legend looks to add another notch on his historic career by facing the hard punching, generic Eurocac, Sergey Kovalev for light heavyweight supremacy. Kovalev, the man who sent Adonis Stevenson packing to WCW(Showtime) in hopes of having a showdown with what many felt was the "easier" fight with Hopkins, found himself in a high pressure situation when word got out that a Hopkins fight was available to him and not Stevenson given he got passed Caparello. The Stevenson camp(via Haymon fukkery) were trying to hold out on the Hopkins fight hoping he would drop his title(another Haymon fighter was the mandatory) but they soon realized they were playing connect four and Hopkins was playing chess when he jumped back to HBO to fight Kovalev while public perception was that Stevenson was in fact ducking Kovalev. So here we are, will the old man pull it off one more time or will Kovalev show him that this is in fact "No Country for Old Men"?

krackdagawd's prediction
Hopkins UD, there's levels to this shyt and BHop has seen a gang of Kovalevs but Sergey hasn't seen anyone that's close to a BHop. Hopkins isn't going to take any fights he doesn't feel he won't win at this point(which is why he was always about Dawson) slow plodding, generic eurocac is tailor made for him.

Hopkins
- Kovalev's opponents typcially either move away from his power or go in a shell once they taste his power. Hopkins is going to have to come forward(walk towards the fire ) and smother Kovalev's work. Hopkins will win on the inside, he will win on the outside later in the fight because of............
- The right hand! Kovalev while having a strong jab, has a slooooow jab. Expect Hopkins to counter him over the top like he loves doing.
- Take him to deep waters and drown him! The farthest Kovalev has gone is 7 and he looked like he was needing an oxygen tank out there at times. It's pretty much a given that a Hopkins fight will end in a 12 round dec at this point and Kovalev stamina ain't built for that. Take him to the championship rounds(which Hopkins usually always comes very strong in) and teach him to respect his elders.
Kovalev
- Forget about his head! Hopkins is still VERY good defensively and he will be coming in looking to grapple/smother your work. You make him pay to the body He may be an alien but no way does he take 12 rounds of hard body work at his age.
- For the times you will be looking upstairs don't sit down on your jab as much! And if you are going to sit down on it, do it on the 2nd or 3rd jab to keep him from countering the first jab with his overhand right.
- Don't look for the ko just work! Looking to set up that ko shot will make you fall right into that Hopkins spell and next thing you know 5 rounds have gone by and it's a "typical Hopkins fight".
