People bringing up Daz as an example of him using ghost producers, c'mon now... Daz is a solid producer but the best beat he's made post Death Row was mixed by Dr Dre..

And this was off an album that was entirely co produced by Mike Dean. The song that Dre ONLY mixed for them was better than every other song on that album. I'm not saying he doesn't fall into doing lazy samples at times but he's far more talented than some of you are making him out to be and it's flat out disrespectful to even put Puff next to him as if he's some equally talented guy.. SMH.

Dr. Dre did not mix that song. Who told you this?

Was Diddy one of the ones that made the remix popular? Puffy to be fair came from uptown mca and that label spearheaded rap and hip hop blend from Guy, heavy Dee etc... When gangsta rap was popping girls want to party as they should puffy capitalize on remix and of course finessing his way musically with rap hip hop dance tracks and feel good music. I don't see puffy as a musical geniuses more like a curator and vibe with an ear or vision artist development basically the combo works for him but Alchemist,Premier, Madlib, I consider producers

Dr Dre wasn't the only person saying this about Puffy during that time period.

im pretty sure puff has dope original sounding beats too though? no?

Putf don’t have any beats. He never made a beat in his life. He not a chopper or a looper. He’s neither. He’s not a hands on producer like Dre. He more a conductor type. He ain’t playing or making nothing though

i totally get what you're saying but Puff was technically "producing" in that clip. He didn't press one button but he had the super-producer listening and following his lead :manny:

You ain't producing unless you programming the composition or playing.

Tired of that fukk'n white man'S mca way lie about music.
If you ain'% played or chopped it and physically made the production.
You not a producer.

Period.

shyt would be like because i brought the sample of good grief to palermo and later stro remixed using the same sample.
that i wanted.
still does not mean i produced the record.

As i never went to an actual beat machine.
Nor instrument to make the sonic landscape.

The producer makes the landscape himself.
All this other shyt is a white man's mca based lie to authenticate theft to steal.

Here you go. Puffy shows up to the studio high on a lot of cocaine, lit as hell, bothering Pharrell while he in his workspace creating. Pharrell is a nice guy so he entertains him. The song is released and Puff has a writing credit. Yes, I definitely see how he’s on the level of a Dre or JD:unimpressed:

Y’all muhhfukkaz operated with the exact same formula except he chose 80s R&B and you chose 70s funk … Dre is not known for any original compositions, they operated with the exact same formula and syphoned hits from whatever their parents were playing around the house

Dre is just mad because he has been hands on in technical aspects whereas Diddy is more of an executive producer

glorified audio engineer that turned his name into a brand … a perfectionist with an unlimited budget is not exactly an accolade either
