You can't call yourself a gamer and never have played this game. It doesn't compute. You even had a SNES!! Not even on a emulator?!?

I'm older than most here. I was 13 when SMB3 released, so I have a different perspective. I'd only recommend someone play SMB3 if they are a big Mario or Nintendo fan. By 1989, the gaming industry had already moved on from side scrolling platformers to more action based side scrollers and beat em ups. Add in SMB2 released just 6 months prior, and it would be pretty normal for a gamer to have slept on SMB3. No different than a gamer today who has never played RDR2. Too many options and SMB3 was in a genre of games on the backside of popularity.

Got it for my 6th or 7th birthday. I remember it was winter break and my mom called the house from work and told me to get something out of her dresser like she wanted something :gladbron:Still in my top 10 all time

Never beat this game growing up, never made it past level 3 water world without warp whistles

I beat the whole game last year on the Switch. Epic experience for this game to be 35 years old. A true masterpiece

The hype for this game was insane. Who remembers that trash movie that showed us the first warp zone?

I always warped, I never beat all the levels
that was me when i was younger. but when I replayed it later, I made sure to play through all the levels

in retrospect, it's weird we were so happy to have a mechanic that let us skip all the content we paid for. we just wanted to "beat" the game. now I try to do everything possible before I beat a game
