If ya'll ain't heard GOGO please listen to the mix below and remember GOGO is A LIVE MUSIC EXPERIENCE nothing on tape will ever sound as LIVE as going to actual DC GOGO

I used to run to the ICEBOX in the mid to LATE 90s

Now if this 4 min clip of the Redskins band doing GOGO doesn't move you then don't even bother clicking the mix beneath it.

these YT videos bringing back memories....

going over to the amish flea market in Charles county for PA Palace tapes....
calling out tapes by their recording date "you heard that 7-15-96 wink solo?!?!" :ohhh:

the music randomly stopping because of a fight....I'm pretty sure I heard Slim say "oh, them nikkas getting it in over there" before chris brown

random feedback in the recording....

I thought a gogo was a dancer and i know what gogo gadget means.

:patrice:

shyt is weird as hell. Its like some type of east coast Zydeco (down south brehs know) type music. Its like the beats be all over the place and sound sloppy. Don't seem like its any rhythm to it but dc folks love it.
It sound like somebody in the studio just hitting every instrument moe. Yawl bammas trippin.

Is this GoGo? This shyt sucks ass.

Ehhh.......got anymore? I’m trying to like this shyt. It may be the pace, it may be the drums, it may be the avant gardness of it, or the hype-type vocals over the beat. I can’t tell which one or it may be a nasty combo of them all.

And you talk about robomusic...,from what I heard so far, GoGo sounds like sloppy high school band music minus the conga drums.

I tried to like this shyt. Couldn't. And I'm from Chicago where we're exposed to a confluence of musical sounds; gospel, blues, jazz, house - music brought up from Memphis, the Mississippi Delta, and New Orleans from the Great Migration. Doesn't work for me. Too sloppy.

This is quite possibly the best thing someone posted on here on GoGo music. The first vid really breaks down the groove and a great segway to the second video. I can now better see why it's popular among DC natives. Rep.
