I'm from Uptown so I started going to Go-Go's when Back & UCB came out. I was too young for the Ibex but I was at the La Pena, the Met, and the Lime. My band was UCB and where ever they played, I was there.

Man, before you know it they gonna be saying to you, "You remember when Lebron was playing?"

I realized the Met stood for Metro right after I made that post. The latest memory I have of it was when they turned it into a hand-dancing joint. The worst memory I have of it was when that 23 year-old brother got chased down by this dude, and shot to death, after he had interfered with that dude and his girlfriend fighting. I don't know how serious that fight between that dude and his girlfriend was...I wasn't there. It could have been a mere argument, and that dude got pissed at the brother for not minding his business. I know that feeling...I been there. But it ain't worth killing a brother over. I think they closed for a while after that. But that's when a lot of brothers started staying outta shyt between a brother and his girl, unless it was real serious.

I from PG and I played football so growing up you just had to learn to accept it cause that's what the whole team was rocking to in the locker room whether you liked it or not (not that I had an issue). Then I started going to gogos (Icon, Le Pearl, CFE, ShowPlace) and that was a wrap. Best live parties ever hands down. Lil thotties used to take they pants off and twerk on you in straight panties . My favorite band was New Impressionz musically but TCB imo hands down threw the best live show. Reaction, TOB, AAO round out the top 5.
