Not only in music, but culture as well. Cacs used to have their own bag that they could go deep into wether it be fashion, slang, clothes, etc. wtf ever happened to that?

Capitalism happened. Pro tools, FL and autotune made it cheaper to make rap, pop and EDM in a bedroom, studio quality vs paying a 4-man band to record in a studio. Plus it's harder to get 4 people to stay together and agree than it is to get one person to record on their own.

Plus social media basically made A&R obsolete cause all they gotta do is piggyback off of artists who already developed their own following.
