Arcades were like the perfect medium.

Face to face interaction, outside the house and social gaming activities.

Truthfully I'm surprised nothing has come along to replace it, some kind of updated model.

There needs to be some kind of arcade/casino hybrid or some kind of reward for doing things in the arcade that you can't get on console.

I think for an arcade to be successful now it would need VR and a bunch of 4d machines which I can't even image how much would cost.

Arcades arent the same like back in the days thanks to fukking home consoles.

You know what doesn't happen anymore. Video game companies putting their games in arcades first. Letting those arcade version of their game run their rounds for a year or two then putting the home console versions out. Then the home consoles having the better graphics, bonus features, cgi movies and etc that the arcade lacked being put out there for the people especially the fans. However there was something about the arcade that the home consoles cant imitate. The sound system, vibe, atmosphere and feeling really made that shyt exciting and thrilling.

I feel sorry for all the folks that didnt grow up in the 90s when that shyt was at its peak.

I used to go to software etc or barnes and noble and buy the strategy guides for the arcade games. I had one for tekken 3, virtual fighter 3, and mk3.

nathans on central ave in yonkers for birthday parties

:wow:

pizza shops with MK street fighter special edition.

the big arcade in the old atlantic city mall where my grandma would give me like $60
In quarters cause she was killin it at slot machines. Damn near going deaf cause of how loud them shyts was. Dave n busters is close but it aint the same

:mjcry:

There was this spot right up the street called Mr. Arcade...6 bucks you can play all day...they ain’t close until like 2 am :wow:

me and my homies would come up on like 10 bucks and be there all day and night...6 bucks all the games on free play

shyt was GOAT

then they started renting games out and eventually turned into a mini GameStop and took all the arcade games out

I remember there was this fat ass dude prolly in his 20s, stomach past his balls, used to run the fighting games all day long
