The world is a cold place. If there is something wrong with you that people can see they’ll give it to your ass because they’re social vampires that feed on the fact that somebody else is doing worse than them.
If you’re young and develop in that environment then it’s likely to damage your development
Its the same reason you see fat people develop self-depreciating humor as a defense mechanism for dealing with how the world treats them.
Not saying this guy is a special snowflake either. Hopefully he takes the time to focus on getting help and fixing himself instead of doubling down on the toxic person he’s become.
Circumstances are what they are but at some point people have to take responsibility for themselves and handle their own business.
