I saw this and the thing that shocked me was this whole series was based on a book Completely took me by surprise.

The woman who wrote the book hated the movie because in her book the only person that was killed was the dude the four teens hit with their car and covered up.
The fisherman killer dude wasn't in it either.

Remaking movies that were shytty the first time around makes sense because, ideally, they'll see what was done wrong and fix it. Then that falls apart when you realize that they probably think the original is a classic.

I'll stick up for Scream 4. It got back to the visceral nature of the first two and didn't feel neutered like Scream 3 did. It had good meta commentary, was funny in some parts, but the ending felt like a cop out

Meh I disagree breh. It fit within the structure and I loved the killer reveal because it made complete sense and tied into our culture today, much like the first two Screams did. The idea that anyone can be famous now, all for doing nothing, and that she used this as her moment to be famous, all makes sense. Neve playing the backseat was the point of the movie but I am interested in knowing what Kevin Williamson originally planned because once again, he butted heads with the Weinstein's and he left the project and I heard there were some rewrites

MY only problems with Scream 4 is that they killed Hayden Panettiere's character and didn't kill old ass Sydney, Gail and Dewey.

And I'm pretty sure that last reason is something the studio disagreed with and why Williamson walked
