Is sad because they have no power so it’s all for show and tell. If it came with some real power I’d respect it but it’s merely an exaggerated prolonged game of dress up

Still comes with plenty of money from their subjects. Same amount of economic power

I dont hate the monarchy. I'm indifferent. I don't blame Elizabeth specifically for coloniasm anymore than I blame any single white American for slavery. It's a collective thing that their ancestors partook in.

All these people using her death to pop off with the hateful comments and jokes comes off corny to me. But like I said, I'm indifferent so I don't care all that much either.

She literally lived off of colonialism. Look at the dates that many nations in Africa gained their independence from England. She was literally the Queen of England when it happened.

She had no power during those dates. I dont think the crown wielded any real power during her entire tenure as queen.

Y'all acting like she was personally sending English soldiers to Africa and using royal guards to crack black folks heads when the reality is... nah.

Any action England was taking in her lifetime was out of her control. She wasn't running things.

This is said ad nauseam but how can you sit on top of the class system and have no power

Most people are short sighted, and don't understand what soft power is, the royal family is still in control

Americans are ignorant people, they don't even realize the United States government is a corporation owned by the British Crown

America was only free from british rule under the articles of confederation, the found fathers dream was short lived, most Americans don't know the difference between the Constitution OF the United States and the Constitution FOR the United States

All the previous presidents before Donald Trump, were directly related to King George by blood, Even Obama

that's why Donald Trump needed Putin to help be elected, and use the maga cult to disrupt the country

Her monarchy was being supported by the exploitation of those nations. Aka that is where her money was coming from. Even after independence she would visit those countries and pet their puppet Presidents on the heads. So she clearly wielded power even though you are stating that it was mostly ceremonial, but she never returned the shyt that her predecessors looted.

Bro, you think all the looted stuff is sitting up in Buckingham palace? :gucci:

She had no power to return ANYTHING. Those looted items were not in her possession.

As far as visiting those African nations, she was welcomed and most likely invited there. The English military didn't go in there a few days before her visit and hold folks at gunpoint to make them let her visit.

And she didn't "pet" anyone's head. Now you're insulting africans. And like I said, any visit she had there was ceremonial.

And its not me stating that her reign was ceremonial. Those are facts that are undisputed if you just do a 5 minute Google search. You will find that I'm right about that.

She may ngo have power but she damn sure had influence. We have no idea what was said in those backdoor meetings

Influence on what? The queen ain't in the room formulating British laws or foreign policy.

Yall showing your lack of geopolitical knowledge in this thread.

But what should I expect? This is TLR. Looks like its time for me to take another sabbatical and head over to Higher Learning :wow:

First of all no one insulted any Africans. You just made that up. Even Africans will tell you that many of their Presidents directly after independence were puppets for England. That is why so many of those original governments after independence were toppled because they were not there for the people they were in place for England.

Second of all the monarchy of England does have artifacts from those looted kingdoms. She has Benin bronzes as part of the UK Royal Collection. She resisted returning them to the Edo Museum of West African Art. In fact her foul relatives had just looted Benin and other West African empires a little over 100 years ago so people know that she still has their shyt.

Third of all why are you so vigorously defending that evil ass woman?
