It's not about thinking Wentz is god. It's about what they've invested in him (this includes Lurie, too, he was a part of the process when the Eagles drafted Wentz and when they extended him) and what it says about how they see him. No NFL team is guaranteeing $100 million to a QB without thinking of him as their long-term QB of the future, and they certainly aren't giving up on him a year later. If Lurie, Howie and Doug thought that little of Wentz, he'd either have been traded last season or franchise tagged this one.

Lurie has already said last year the Eagles want to be drafting QBs almost every year to develop. It's an organizational philosophy with them. That's likely what the Hurts pick was ultimately about.

I am pretty sure everyone was well vested in Wentz but breh its been 3 years in a row and best believe they can get rid of an investment quick. Wentz still hasn’t proved anything and he has the talent but health is a major major concern. I am telling you if he gets injured again it is a rap.

He got injured on a dirty hit...that wasn't his fault...go to a live game big dawg...see his talent live...nikka made a top 3 pass I've seen in my lifetime and I saw that shyt in person at the Redskins game

We need to get as many weapons and solidify our o-line depth more than anything

I get this but unless Howie hates everybody left on the board, our team nor our draft this far is good enough to make this move.


Especially with a division rival who by all accounts is having one of the best drafts this year.
