Yes, it was a very good play by Kobe, maybe one of Kobe's best passes ever (nothing fukks with that oop to Shaq against POR though).

However, it's not that impressive on any type of grand scale. That wouldn't make a top twenty highlight play for anybody who IS considered a good passer.

The argument to counter the "Kobe doesn't/can't" pass stuff is that he's a true prototypical/traditional shooting guard (not a combo guard, not a "point forward") who's spent the vast majority of his career playing in a structured motion offense.. and still has averaged close to 5 assist per game for his career...not a single instance of him passing ... nice play though

Kobe has the ball in his hands way more often than the prototypical catch and shoot type guard though. Dude can pass and has passed but he said himself that he's a gunner and it's pretty apparant from watching him for 17 years that he isn't the biggest fan of passing the ball.
