How do you mean? I don't think I've ever seen anyone complain or call out Naruto or Ichigo for being bytchmade like Shinji Ikari from NGE.
It took Simon a while to man up and it doesn't help that his beta attitude cost a popular team member their life.

King of asspulls. The whole theme of the show is making the impossible possible, aka asspulling.
Oh, nobody calls it out because TTGL tells you from the jump that's how it is and it's pretty much the plot. Anti-Spirals were trying to stop them brehs from pulling shyt out they ass so much.
I'm not into Naruto (left that shyt alone during the Zabuza arc or whatever it's called) but I've heard of the Plot No Jutsus and how the show contradicts itself from homies that watch it. No thanks.

Yeah, I generally loathe mecha anime because they're the king of asspulls and deus ex machinas, but Gurren Lagann's concept is pretty much a meta-explanation for the trope "Humanity overcomes all odds" and the show pretty much tells you in the first episode you have to accept that willpower is the ultimate weapon.
I also find it funny whenever people complain about Simon being a "beta". His character is at the very core of the willpower theme in the sense he starts out as a follower who has to learn to stand on his own two feet and realize he too can be as strong as the person he follows. It's the ultimate triumph and one thing the creators got absolutely right (and it certainly was a dangerous choice to do so) is keep mopey Simon around as long as they did for his grief to feel real and as alienating to us as it does to the characters, something most shows would've scoffed over and/or avoided.
