I lost all my respect for WOATku when he gave Cell a sensu bean
I think there was a reason behind that. Even without the senzu bean Gohan would have gotten murked at his current strength level. Goku knew that the only way gohan would win is if he reached his hidden potential and that would only happen if he was pushed to his absolute limit. If cell fights without that bean the fight between him and gohan is close enough that gohan doesn't go SS2 but cell still wins
