This brother said he does mostly calisthenics and a little weight training. He thinks the gains from weight training don’t last as long as calisthenics. He also is a pescatarian.

:mjlol: no there isn't you probably aren't doing them right.

My pump from pullups and dips > free weights
Nah I've done both body weight and weighted exercises.

I could do 300 pushups right now, it won't tear and break down the muscle fibers in my chest like bench press, dumbbell press, flies, etc would.

Breh I know you full of it.....

Like I said you probably arent doing it right. @Silkk used to argue with me over this same topic, until he finally did it right.

It's not just push-ups man....

You have to do a circuit of dips, pull-ups(no chin-ups), and push-ups.

Fam on my off days I do 150 pushus 75 pull ups.

Dips cause me to have sternum pain for some reason so I stay away from them.

And like I said. Bodyweight exercises don't do shyt for me anymore.

I can do 300 pushups today and I'll barely be sore for a day.

What am I not doing right exactly? Combining pullups with pushups means nothing. They both work different parts of the body.

What’s a good regimen to start with. I’m outta shape now due to back injury, age, laziness and eating good.

Need diet and a light workout plan.

I used to get it in the park and gym.

That’s him. You can build a killer physique without weights and just calisthenics

I fukks with calisthenics. My base is still weight lifting buts there is only so much progress you can mak. At a certain point the gains slow down and Its not worth it to put so much time in effort to squeak out minimal gains. It's more about maintaining. So last year I started dedicating a little of that time to calisthenics and starting something new from the beginning where you are making more progress., which is enjoyable. Many of the exercises improve your balance and strengthen tendons in a way weight lifting doesn't in traditional exercises. Such as handstand pushups, planches, etc. Plus the exercises look neater and are party tricks in a way. People are more impressed to see you do some of those exercises than just lifting a bunch of weight. I fell off a little with the calisthenics and need to get back on it.
