I Just Realized Why I Can't Stand Gospel Music

I agree people think that He will just fix all your issues and don't take action to change their own lives but that is the people who are misinterpting and failing to do what they need to do.

I would bet you asked many gospel artist they would say the same.

Imo the intent, (well I'll say today's songs cuz some of those old school songs do promote inactivity) is not to promote dependency.

Anything that makes my people go out and BE the change that they want to see.... I'm good. I grew up in church and volunteered with outreach ministries.... When i peeled all that bullshyt back.. I realized that we are all human.......


Religion ain't gonna save nobody. Actions that result in substantial irrevocable change is what really matters....

No doubt Jesus is an inspirational figure. The propoganda is that he will "fix it".... It promotes dependency and complacency. Black people don't need that. So some of you guys hate gospel music because the people who listen to it are flawed and don't stick to the message.
But the purpose of the music is to give God props for what he has done for us.

All people I know who listens to it are habitual secular people. They think listening to people scream on a record negates all the wrong they do. From my mother growing up to my dad's gf's father who keeps his TV on TBN (he made us listen to gospel the whole ride on a trip somewhere) and had a prostitute in the house awhile back. My cousin plays gospel daily now since some ratchet mess with one of my best friends. Still curses, scream, fornicate, eats fast food, not a great parent, etc.

But listening to gospel music just fixes all peoples' ills. I never liked gospel music. Even my messy ass child's mother played gospel and gosh that woman is the epitome of wicked.

Damn a lot has changed.
