I just realized that the NBA moved the awards ceremony to after the playoffs

In those sports it's a lot less likely that the regular season MVP could get washed in the playoffs by the runner ups though.

Imagine this setup last year, with Curry winning it a few days after Bron an em came back.

Not really less likely. Aaron Rodgers was awarded MVP the night before the team that beat him was playing in the SB

I mean I don't think this is a perfect change to make, but I also don't think it's the end of the world

The team that beat him had the other MVP candidate or were they just better as a team? You know I don't follow Handegg like that beloved

Like @CHICAGO pointed out, losing the MVP sometimes fuels dudes like Jordan going at Chuck and Malone, Hakeem crucifying Robinson, or Bron last year clearly taking it personal with Curry.

What if the Rockets and Thunder meet, Russ goes off and then they give the award to Harden a month later?

Gonna be a lot of "Live via satellite" 30 second acceptance speeches.

Wilson didn't much MVP hype that year but the point remains Rodgers was accepting the trophy while Russell Wilson & Tom Brady were preparing to play in the SB.

I really don't think it's gonna make a significant difference in the results of games. I don't think think the Cavs wouldn't have come back from being down 3-1 if Curry hadn't already won MVP. It just would've been one less storyline to promote the matchup.

That could've happened under the old format. They could meet in the 1st round, Russ outplays Harden badly and then a few weeks later in the 2nd round Harden wins MVP.

It's far more likely a MVP in NHL gets washed by runner ups as top seeds get eliminated more. NBA is by far the most predictable league. :dahell:

I'm gonna need you to change your name to LEMIEUX and take Kobe out of your avatar :scust:

You're unfit to wear the name of a NBA player, @CantStop where do they make these new nikkas?
