Happened to me once....this super thick chick I met in Japan. I started talking to her while waiting for my supervisor to scoop me up from orientation. I have you beat. This woman I work with and I had planned to go to her place after work and smash. I hit her up to let her know I'm leaving and she told me that she had a meeting and that she'd be leaving a little later. Cool. No big deal. Random meetings and conferences running over the limit are normal where we work. Then she said she's having drinks with friends that she'll meet me about an hour later. That's when I knew she had other plans. We can't be in the same room at work. It just gets awkward. She doesn't even look at me.
