I don’t disagree, but there are plenty of properties in and around the Detroit Metro that are dirt cheap.

If he has cash on hand and a person or persons he can trust in the area, he can get a rental property up and going.

if he has cash to buy, then go for it. but I'm not for taking out mortgages right now. plus prices are still high due to the low inventory.

Did you have to go through mediation
Lawyers did absolutely everything for me. I am sure that the defendant's insurance company everything they could for the lowest payout but everything was behind the scenes and besides a monthly check in I rarely even had contact with them during the whole process.

I advise all to get a lawyer in any type of legal compensation accident like this you cannot do it alone I promise.

if you had mediation you would’ve had to testify. So they offered you the other parties policy limits essentially without filing a lawsuit. just seems like a rather high figure for at its core, a soft tissue injury.

https://www.thecoli.com/threads/legal-advice-i-got-hit-by-a-car.920357/

I made a thread about this while ago about me getting hit by a car while walking and I finally got my bag :banderas:

I’ve always made decent money and I am more than frugal but this is the first time I have a little bit of disposable money.

I bought a few toys (a new guitar and bass, a new tv for the low during Amazon prime week, a watch, a new MacBook, paid a few months rent out flat, traveled back home to Detroit to see my granny and traveled to Portland and LA to explore the whole west coast. Lastly got my mom a trip on a cruise to the Bahamas for her birthday last week. To keep it a bean I’m done spending money :yeshrug:

Question is how should I invest now? I’m tapped in to the music scene here and I have a few people in my ear talking about starting or partnering a music label. Others said get some real estate back home in MI for the low and get my rental hustle on.

I need some coli experts to give me some suggestions about how to invest in a smart way. I really don’t care about money like that and never have, so I’m not too educated about how the stock market works or even large investments in general.

Ballin Coli brehs help your mans out

enjoy that paper fam and invest wisely! One of the simplest and best investments over time has been to drop bread into an index fund (SPY, VOO, VTI) and just letting it grow over time :salute:

I can definitely wait but I have been getting highway robbed for the past 5 years by renting I really just want my own. I know not to jump out the window tho. I’ve paid off my lease through the end of the year to give me a personal motivation start to really get the ball rolling.
That I can understand breh. :wow:
The lease payment was a smart move, gives you time to breathe and think things thoroughly!

Ride that motivation to really play it smart, maybe you'll find a dope crib below market price and still have some left to flip. Perhaps that would be the best outcome.

Lol but I came out nice. I don’t personally know any lawyers in the city I live in so I went to one that is reputable and friends of mine suggested; they definitely took their 33% tho.

I’ll just say it’s a very generous settlement, not in the millions but I nice number with three numbers in front of comma and three numbers behind it even after their cut
Find a reputable advisor and make it grow for you
