Just because you have kids doesn't mean you don't look suspect. I'm just sayin... I've done it all kinds of ways. What you wear really has an effect. Step ya game up. Just look really expensive all the time. That's what I do.
It also helps that I'm in great shape. I actually *am* a superior person to most people that I deal with, regardless of race. At least from a material and physical perspective. I often have the intellectual edge on most people that I interact with as well. People can detect this and behave accordingly. It really cuts down on the sense of un-ease that you may be feeling.
And no, your city is not segregated. They don't even do that in South Africa anymore.
