It's a legitimate anxiety, just like when white people hit the power door locks when they drive into Harlem, and then hit the unlock when they enter the upper blocks of Manhattan with a sigh of relief.
Yeah we talked about this in class once and all the white people were sayin how they are scared to ride through black neighborhoods. And they are sometimes nervous when they see a young black man. We even had huge whiteboy had to be at least 6'3 265 he trained in MMA and he had a CCW and he was still sayin how he was scared to walk around alone at night around his apartment cause he lives in the "hood".
I had to tell them that black folks be tryin to get away from them. As rude as they act, and the way they treat you in public makes you not even want to go around. I've had white people cut me in line. Act surprised when I pull out cash instead of a food card.
They grab their children and shew them away from me and my kids like black people eat babies. I've been ignored/denied service cause they assumed I wasn't going to buy anything.
I walked in the tux store and asked the white dude for assistance he tells me wait, I wait 15 minutes then a black dude comes out the back to help me, and the dude I originally asked to help me jumped right up when a white dude walked in the door.
Once you go through these events so many times, it makes you want nothing to do with those people, but you gotta deal with it if you wanna go to Costco.
