No, it's not. Pizza Margherita, including tomatos, was invented in the 19th century in Italy. They took the dish to america, not the other way around.

He's talking about the tomato. It originated in the Americas. The Natives introduced it to them. The Europeans took it back to Europe and started to develop the types they use in Europe today.

No, he's talking about Pizza and says it couldn't be invented by italians, because it contains tomatos, which come from america. The latter is true, but by the 19th century, europeans had been cultivating tomatos for a long time.
