225 should be standard
mfs benching 315 but couldn’t pull themselves up if they were hanging off a cliffBench press is highly weight dependent. Not too many people weigh enough to even bench 225 regularly
Also bench is not a perfect indicator of strength. It’s one way but there’s other ways of showcasing strength. Can you control your own body weight well?
But yes alot of the population just doesn’t work out
mfs benching 315 but couldn’t pull themselves up if they were hanging off a cliff
Weighted or body weight?Saying 225 is standard is speaking out of pure ignorance
225 is not a ton, BUT most people who go to gym use it for rec. a better indicator of strength are push ups, pull ups, dips, chin ups
Nah, The only 2 types of people that are in positions where they need chest strenght to push off are offensive/defensive lineman and maybe wrestlers. If you only care about looking fit, then shoulder and back exercises are better. Bench press is just not top lift to me no matter what you're goal isBenching 315 >>>>> pullings weighing 150
If you can't bench 225 you aren't doing many of those other things either, unless you're a CrossFit guy.225 is not a ton, BUT most people who go to gym use it for rec. better indicators of strength are push ups, pull ups, dips, chin ups
