I'll always believe that if someone from the Thunder would have had the sense to tell him after the 2012 Finals that Harden was being re-signed and made the point guard and him the shooting guard that the Thunder would have won rings and Westbrook would have been looked at in a more favorable light. The offense always flowed better when Harden was handling the ball that last season and Russy could have stuck to scoring while still getting 5 to 6 assists a game just from playing with the talent around him.

The most fascinating thing about Westbrook is how he managed to make it to this level without even the most basic of basketball fundamentals. I get it, not everyone is gonna be a great shooter or finisher. But what really gets me, is that he doesn’t even have a fundamental as simple as change of speed figured out. Like the dude only has 1 gear and that’s top speed. Every great guard consistently changes speed in the half court to break down defenses. Sometimes they go snail pace and have the defender at their hip, sometimes they accelerate and use their first step, and everything in between, to keep defenders on their toes. Russ literally has none of that. He goes 2000mph to the basket everytime and is way out of control leading to a turnover, a charge, or a woefully bricked layup. Even the freakiest athletic slashers like Giannis and Ja have incredible ability to shift gears. How many times you seen GA glide full speed across the floor then stop on a dime and do that slow ass, long stride euro to get past defenders?
