I got reps/daps/whatever for someone who help me grow my calves

Sadly, many of us (the brothas) have weak calf genetics. High insertions, this helps us in other sports like sprinting and basketball where we gotta jump and run fast, but in bodybuilding it's a pain in the ass. You can usually do some damage tho and put some size on them. Play around in the gym, do heavy and low reps and see how they go. Then try light and more volume. You gotta just keep at it and never neglect them.

Because of my high calves, I've tailored my body to be more lean than I originally wanted. At first I was going for mass and I was gonna be a meathead. But soon I saw how big my upper body was getting and how my calves were not growing. A playa had to stop himself before he looked like a fool.

IDC how much you say you cant grow your calves, if you are hitting all your sets like your supposed to they WILL grow.

try doing a set of heavy reps (standing/sitting calf raises whatever) and immediately after do a set with some lighter weights, do that for a 3 or 4 sets on each exercise and you should see some more improvement


i dunno how you hit your sets but make sure you are struggling your ass off to finish those last few reps of a set, those are the reps that matter the most as they tear the most muscle fibers

Reps in the 20s
moderately heavy weight
2 second contraction at the top of the movement :birdman:
Get a stretch at the bottom

Jump rope

Main thing is that contraction, don't bounce, keep the movement smooth and controlled.

Fight through the burn breh :birdman:

skinny calves yes...genetics are a bish




saw this white dude today with the biggest, muscular calves :to: His calves were like 2/3 of his leg. :damn: He looked like he never has touched a weight in his life. Arms were toothpicks. It aint fair.

i got atleast in my opinion decent calves and I dont even work them that much, heres what I do

2 sets of 50 of seated calf raises with a 75 lb db on your thigh on each leg

or

calf extensions on the calf extension machine with 4 sets of 10 between 250 - 320 lbs

and then

100 basic standing calf raises immediately after either with no weight

but then again I walk alot, I walk like a mile and a half to the train station for my commute and back home just for the cardio, I walk around the building at work during my breaks

I think I'm a just start doing calves whenever I got to the gym. How often do yal do legs a week?
