Sadly, many of us (the brothas) have weak calf genetics. High insertions, this helps us in other sports like sprinting and basketball where we gotta jump and run fast, but in bodybuilding it's a pain in the ass. You can usually do some damage tho and put some size on them. Play around in the gym, do heavy and low reps and see how they go. Then try light and more volume. You gotta just keep at it and never neglect them.
Because of my high calves, I've tailored my body to be more lean than I originally wanted. At first I was going for mass and I was gonna be a meathead. But soon I saw how big my upper body was getting and how my calves were not growing. A playa had to stop himself before he looked like a fool.
