I've got 14.5 inch calves and like 7-8inch ankles. I have tried to work my calves light, heavy, full extension, one day a week, multiply days a week, and even everyday.

These things won't grow. I got to be doing something wrong. My whole body will grow except my calves.

I know it has to be genetic because I'm in the gym all the time working them and look like I don't even work out legs:snoop:

Then I see people who come in never do any leg training have big calves or at least normal looking calves. :pacspit:

My calves haven't really grown in years and I have shifted weight from between 160 up to 200 and back down to 165 (over the course of many years). While my whole body goes up and down as far as mass my calves stay exactly the same.

shyt embarrassing.:why: Its like 90 degrees outside and I have to pull out pants on a saturday:to: I need help brehs.

Also, I'm willing to hear from anyone but I would prefer to hear from someone with similarly small calves that you've had to concentrate and focus on to grow. A lot of calf advice I have read online seems to be from people who say " Even though I have genetically gifted calves, try this..." :stopitslime:

got me curious, so I did some measurements for scale (18 1/2" unflexed calf, 10 1/4" unflexed ankle)

but you know what? my wrists are fukking small. 90% of the time I wear a watch (left wrist, & the band is always on the tightest notch), and I measured that at 6 1/2". It sucks, and I can't do anything about it. that's just the way it is. :manny:

Just realizing that people pay less attention to you than you think (as is the case for everyone), and that everyone has things they'd like to improve on. I live in Florida where it's shorts for everyone the majority of the time, I can't think of the last time I've picked out someone's calves as abnormal. Being in shape and working towards that personal betterment >>>>>> the growing # of people who look sloppy & uncomfortable with their bodies as a whole, who don't try to fix it.

exercise-wise, I grew up playing soccer & always had strong legs but had a very weak upper body (couldn't even do the monkey bars on the playground lol) until I took a weightlifting class as a freshman in high school.

I run 3-4 nights a week 2.5/3ish miles a run, and about twice a week (the morning after a run) I'll do probably 8 or so sets of 12 of just standing calf raises, just my body weight, keeping balance, in between my upper body routine sets. Not a quick up and down, but making sure it's really controlled.

I had a fractured tibia & knee surgery when I was 14 & was off my left leg for many weeks, and when I took the brace off it was very atrophied. Like I walked with a limp the first day or two atrophied. I wore pants the first few days back at school, but that actually looked more strange (attire-for-weather-wise) than being back in shorts, and when I went back to shorts no one cared, it was just me & in my head.

Hey thanks for the comments. I respect you'll opinion.

I probably shouldn't have even posted that part. I'm not really worried about the pants/shorts thing.

My real thing I just want a balanced proportioned body for myself. I take the bodybuilding/weightlifting thing kind of serious so it frustrates me when I feel I don't have the answer to the issue. I just don't accept the fact that I won't grow my calves.

Also I will soon be changing careers into a personal trainer. Right now I'm learning all I can and I want to be able to figure this out.

I know what u mean breh. I dont rock shorts that are too high. My calves are 15 1/4. I remember watching that true life ep with dude who got calf implants and thinking :wtf:. Now I'm like :patrice:

Got skinny ass ankles and 6 inch wrists too. Swear I have the thinnest wrist of any adult male in the world. For the past 3 years Ive checked out wrists on the subway and havent seen a one thinner than mine. fukking 95% of the women have bigger :to:

That honestly doesn't sound like your calves are all that small.

That said, do calf raises with your toes pointed in and out along with straight ahead.

The struggle for me in the calf area has been real since I started working out. Everything else seems to grow, but the calves no matter what I do.

In the last month or so, I have seen a difference by running more, as well as jumping rope, especially jumping rope. Get on that a little bit, bro.
