I think 04 was the year they changed their rating system to really show a difference between superstars, stars, mid level players, role players, and scrubs.

This was back when simulation basketball games weren't trying to make players super heroes

We had NBA Street for the crazy shyt.

Now, you got Bol Bol being the most dominant player in MyTeam NBA 2K because he's tall and can dribble, in real life

They couldn't release these kind of ratings now, these boys so soft they might have a mental breakdown if they below 60. Ben Simmons would never pick up a ball again

Players back then didn't really grow up playing basketball video games in any significant fashion since by the time they really got popping off they were already in college/the league, so they didn't have enough of an attachment to the games to get sensitive about it. That 04 rookie class like LeBron, Carmelo, etc. were the first generation of guys who really grew up on video games.

Sixers Raptors were fun teams because of AI and Vince but it sucked cuz you had a bunch of Tyrone Hills on the team with a 48 rating.....thats why i used the Mavs cuz everyone was fun to play with....i loved Vince/Kobe in those Live days the triangle jump hop step and dunk on nikkas was dope....i think that was the last year that Live was good...i think 05 is where it fell off and 2k took over...

EA was tight on who they gave 90+ ratings to back then. Duncan should've been higher than a 91 though.

They really were. I remember in Live 97, it was Pippen and Player 99 who had high 90s.
