I get where you’re coming from but I don’t think it’s hard to take care of natural black hair.

I have 3c/4a hair and all I do is shampoo and condition it once a week, run water through it daily when I shower, put some moisturizer in it and ecostyling gel and go on about my day.

the reason some black people talk down on nappy hair has nothing to do with maintenance and the reason a lot of black women weave up their hair or wear wigs is all because crackas have indoctrinated our community into thinking straight or curly hair is better knowing damn well if they could grow a fro they would copy that too.

Everyone does not have the same kind of hair. Just because you can throw some water and gel in your hair and be good doesn’t mean that all Black people can do the same. Some hair types require a lot of maintenance and finding the right products. Being natural is no joke especially for people with 4C hair. Plenty of women wear wigs and braids so that they don’t have to battle their hair and/or continue manipulating it.

In particular by black men.

I've been growing my hair out since January of last year and my hair looks like the weeknd's. There's so many times/moments where I just want to cut this shyt off and be done with it, but I'm gonna finish what I started. I can only imagine how black women must feel who stick with the natural look.

Hair care is serious business, ESPECIALLY with black hair. I never understood why women talk and care about hair so much but after growing mine out and trying to maintain it, I completely get it now. Most of these other nationalities have no idea about the hair struggle so I don't expect much from then as far as empathy or respect. But we can't be faulting sistas for wearing wigs and weaves given the nature of our hair and the maintenance needed to keep it healthy and glowing.

Let's be sure to teach our sons and nephews to respect our women and their hair.

That is all.
What does that even mean?

I got FreeForm Locs and it’s not hard to maintain at all..Once black ppl
Embrace their true form of hair they will see it’s way easier to care for then trying to straightening it 24/7...True natural black hair belong in locs. if your hair not in locs you not truly natural bruh..you just think you is cuz of what you been taught

Elaborate on this..

To me natural hair is natural.. Regardless of the style its in..

If you have a black son, then tell him stop calling black women "nappy headed"..
But black men have nappy hair. Why is it socially acceptable to call boys lil nappy headed nikkas or say they have buckshots but talking about a woman's hair is taboo?

If you really care about black hair then it should be sacred for both genders. Black men and women literately have the same hair and face the same discrimination for it lol.

black girls shyt on lil nappy headed boys way more than black boys talk about black girls hair

I don't get what confuses you

You have fro? With no sponging? Why?

That sponge dries up your hair

Easiest way to go bald is to keep circling that sponge on your head til there's no more moisture left. Stop using that shyt ASAP.

Anyways, I was going for the Travis Scott/Chris Brown box braids look

Granted I know Chris's is fake... But it's either that or I'm playing with the idea of dreads and going full out Lenny Kravitz.

it's true since the beginning of time human beings of all races, both male and female have worn hair on their heads that did not grow out of their scalps. but please explain this to me, why is that 95% of the time sistas' "protective personal choice" is non-black woman's hair? sure i'll be told about kinky weaves, faux locks, and afro wigs. but that's like telling me you wish to discuss how asian players have this significant presence in the NBA because of yao ming & linsanity. the exception doesn't swallow the norm. the issue black men have with these protective personal choices is that it isn't congruent to their features or consistent with their natural hair texture. it often looks like a disguise or a costume

now you're a black man having hair troubles. ok cool. are you going to throw on a toupee made out of slum dog millionaire actor dev patel's hair my G? of course not, you'd look ridiculous. so why yall nikkas think it's any different for our women? where exactly are black men being hateful or unsympathetic towards black women with noting this? aesthetic assimilation is not what's poppin. especially when you hurl "self hating" at nikkas for being attracted to the very same hoes in malaysia whose hair you're buying in disproportionate numbers and acting like you first of all with it. they gotta make it make sense lord
