Wire is considered one of the greatest tv shows of all time by critics.

Breaking Bad is merely a good show.

The same critics that jocked "The Wire" before it was popular are currently calling "Breaking Bad" better than "The Wire", or at the very least saying the two are comparable.

So if you like "The Wire" better just say that. Bringing critics into this discussion you're gonna make a fool of yourself.

To what? Linking all the critics that either say "BB" is the GOAT or at the very least "one of the greatest of all time" would take all day. Sepinwall, Grantland, AV Club, TIME, ET, The New Yorker, Variety....like I said, too many to mention....have mentioned these shows along side each other as (at the very least) equals. A few say "BB" is the GOAT.

The Coli (and before, SOHH) is some kinda alternate reality where the idea of these two shows co-existing as equals is some kinda revelation.

I have to agree.

I watched the first 5 eps of The Wire like thinking "This can't be what everyone has been talking about, can it?" I couldn't go on after that, shyt was dull as fukk.

Conversely, Breaking Bad was good from the first 5 mins. I'm halfway through season 2 now. Love this ish.

If you went to watch the Wire expecting the same cinematics, and style like
breaking bad you dont need to be watching this
you need to completely separate both shows in their own category

think of The Wire as watching a Documentary of the life in Baltimore
