Some of those people might be retirees just working a low stress job, and some of them might have a spouse bringing in bank...you never know the situation with older people.

I feel more sorry for people in the 30-45 year old range working shytty jobs just to make ends meet. Better at least be an assistant manager :sadcam:

My mother was a teacher for 37 years......She retired and now she works a part time job at Macy's. She knows she doesn't make her much but it helps keep her busy plus the whole family eats off the discount. She also still runs a soup kitchen feeding the homeless and substitute teaches while living off her retirement. She takes classes too. No one wants to sit around and do nothing.......Always good to earn some extra money while you're moving too..

When I was in high school, 14 or 15, I had a job stocking the back room of a shoe store, and an elderly woman, maybe 70, worked there as well as a saleswoman, and I know she didn't make much $. I felt bad for her but once I got to talk to her a bit she told me how she just did this job to keep her busy, get her out of the house, etc. Her husband was dead and her kids were all living in other cities. That's kinda sad too I guess, but at least I know she wasn't working this shyt job to pay the bills.

I don't really feel bad for them, you don't know their circumstances and at least they're working towards something. Better than sitting around and doing nothing. :manny:

I'm not really above working shyt jobs to get by, life gets hard sometimes.

Honestly, that's where the vast majority of this country is heading, with the ever increasing average age of retirement. You better be saving now, or have your exit strategy planned now.
Saving wont save any of you.

I don't know if any of you have been paying attention to the news but we're a long way away from "A penny saved is a penny earned."

Gonna be a LOT of people from the 18-34 age bracket right now working until they're 75.

I'll be damned if i end up like this. I'm only 18 and i'm starting a roth ira account as soon as i get little a part time job. Making sure i do my best in college and specializing in anesthetic nursing so i can get and keep my racks up. I don't have time for games.
