BTW southern hospitality is still a thing, the lady who made my publix sub told how she likes her cheesesteak to be made the same way I had it made. A sista held the door open for me at WAWA (underrated sub shop BTW) then encountered another friendly lady inside the store, the cashier was friendly, etc. As an uglygang breh it had me second guessing myself like, am I handsome gang now :ohhh: then I was like nah I'm still ugly its just southern hospitality :mjcry:

I was walking on the sidewalk a random brehito said hello to me :leon:

BTW I think southern hospitality is zapped from ppl once they set foot in Walmart, got nothing but mean mugs and cold stares in that place

Have any honest thoughts on Texas?

If all Texas had was Dallas it would be the WOAT

However

Houston, El Paso, Corupus Christi and the panhandle make it worth checking out. Through I consider Houston area to be the "South" imo

tbh, I need to check out the other parts of Texas. I see Houston as disappointing compared to what it was before :francis:

You from there originally breh?

I rocked with it honestly- the food was great, the people were decent no bs. the traffic was really the only thing I didn't like about it.

The thing I loved about it was, Houston is Houston- like it ain't trying to be N.O. or L.A. or anything like that it has it's own identity.

Then there's Dallas

Naw southern hospitality is real, but it's just surface level pleasantries. :manny:

The person calling you "hun", "sugar" and "baby" probably don't give af about you.

But I know(n) some real ass people here too so 🤷 I just deal with people on a case by case basis.

Imagine a bunch of muthafukkas migrating to the south from the west coast, east coast and midwest over the past 25-30 years in DROVES: and then complain about there being no more "Southern Hospitality" :mjlol:

:ld:

Sad to say, all the meanness came from people that wanted to do shortcuts

A couple years ago I made a thread about it…

Looking back I was so naive :wow:

I moved back from Seattle to the south and the people down here are really mean as fukk. They just polite to your face and show manners and pleasantries. They’ll help you but then they’ll go talk shyt behind your back about having to help you. If you not a Christian a lot of people don’t wanna fw you fr, and a lot of women don’t wanna date you.

Since coming back I’ve heard some of the most hateful shyt just casually flow out of people’s mouths. shyt that would get you kicked out a business in Seattle and it’s deadass just normal man.

The entire person to person culture feels fake down here cause it’s more focused on manners and politeness than being real. Like showing politeness supersedes consideration and genuine care for the next person.

These people think I’m mean as fukk now when I’m just giving a straight forward answer, giving basic pleasantries (please, thank you) and going about my day. It’s like me not wanting to stand there and have a random ass 10 minute convo with some stranger makes me the weirdo:why: especially when I’m clearly in a rush/busy doing something.

Living in NYC for a couple then moving to Seattle for a few years really changed my mind on what being kind/nice really looks like.
It’s not

I think people from the south know it’s mask and a way of showing each other your family is from “the culture”

It’s outsiders who fantasize it
