A couple years ago I made a thread about it…

Looking back I was so naive :wow:

I moved back from Seattle to the south and the people down here are really mean as fukk. They just polite to your face and show manners and pleasantries. They’ll help you but then they’ll go talk shyt behind your back about having to help you. If you not a Christian a lot of people don’t wanna fw you fr, and a lot of women don’t wanna date you.

Since coming back I’ve heard some of the most hateful shyt just casually flow out of people’s mouths. shyt that would get you kicked out a business in Seattle and it’s deadass just normal man.

The entire person to person culture feels fake down here cause it’s more focused on manners and politeness than being real. Like showing politeness supersedes consideration and genuine care for the next person.

These people think I’m mean as fukk now when I’m just giving a straight forward answer, giving basic pleasantries (please, thank you) and going about my day. It’s like me not wanting to stand there and have a random ass 10 minute convo with some stranger makes me the weirdo:why: especially when I’m clearly in a rush/busy doing something.

Living in NYC for a couple then moving to Seattle for a few years really changed my mind on what being kind/nice really looks like.

I visited my boys down in LA too and the people there genuinely seemed like they care more about other people than down here. Even though people call LA shallow

Same thing I felt in Philly. shyt even Connecticut. It feels like the people there just care more about the person. They might be straight forward and less talkative but it’s really just more efficient

It was always a myth. :pachaha:@ the regional birthplace of American terroism being nicer. Historically the highest rates of violence and poverty has always been the south

However the South isn't a monolith. Some of the ruddest don't give af what they say brash human beings I ever encountered were from the South, but then again I grew up in Florida which some people think is different then traditional Southernism. Where exactly in the south you talking about?

Soon as OP leaves

"Yall see that there boy. Po as a twig. Eating them white folks food up there all his life. We gon fattening him up so the rest of his body can catch up with his head. Yea you can tell by the way he dress that he like them white girls. And aint been taught right at all. Not once did he say yes mam no mam. Didnt even put his glass on a coaster. But its alright tho. I can sense he got a good spirit so whenever yall see him, make him feel at home"

Bro my grandma was notorious for that shyt. Man there was this dude that moved from the midwest somewhere to New Orleans. He came down to go to school at Tulane I think. Anyways bro was working at this restuarant and my granny invited him to church and to sunday dinner. Somehow she found out homie had a plug on flat screen tvs (when they first started coming out back in the day.) He gifted her two for the hospitality he showed her. Like a month later bro gets busted and eventually kicked out of school. Man my grandma talked so much shyt about that boy and then had the nerve to tell us we better not hook up no video games to her tvs and fukk em up. I just looked at her like :gucci:

A lake near Tampa FL
As a new resident to the south (Florida) I HATE this place with deep PASSION. I FUKKING HATE HATE HATE THIS PLACE!!!!!!!

Let me make one thing clear, its NOT because of the ppl, lots of beautiful and friendly ppl in the south. Publix is nice too, region is :trash: otherwise, well FL is at least.

Richmond, VA and Charlotte, NC are probably the only places I can tolerate in the south.

I am NOT a city snob ethier, yeah I come from NYC world class city blah blah blah, but I'd rather live in Allentown PA or upstate NY over anywhere in the south. Fukk it, I'd rather live in Rode Island over anywhere in the south. I'm bitter at the fact that up north gets a proper fall while I'm still sweating my ass off in FL, I don't like florida weather AT ALL. Also there's bugs EVERYWHERE :scust:

Yall who have careers and have control over where you live are truly blessed :wow: I would NEVER leave the Northeast region if it was up to me.
