The Velvet Underground were pretty good (rip lou reed). I even like a lot of Nico's solo work, she had a great voice. I agree tho The Beatles are suuuuuuuuuupremely overrated, they've got maybe 2 or 3 songs I really like, but I could take or leave the rest of their discography tbh

Pac is actually comfortably bigger than the beatles. No one born after the 80s is fukking with the beatles. Beatles is old white music. More people listen Pac today than the beatles; that should be noted. Still in 2015, you have children worldwide from Asia, Africa, South America, Europe and still North America growing up on Pac. People truly underestimate the impact of Pac. A white kid today in New Zealand would rather listen to Pac than the beatles.

Its not a diss by any means.... When you think of rap's inception, and most of its classic moments, those records/cuts are sample based.... basically, the musical component, no matter how marginal, belonged to someone else...... or already had its own life/entity in another musical form... such as R and B, Jazz, Soul, Funk, Disco, Blues, Rock, Alt, etc...

If you played an instrument of any kind, I think it would be easier to get what I'm saying...

Chuck D even spoke on this back in the day when sampling got too expensive... I didn't get this from him, its just understood...... Chuck coined it, "rap over music" hence... Hip Hop.....
