Pac performed some of the realest radio-singles in Hip Hop history, and had a lot of charisma. Definitely a powerful, and unique artist with a varied catalogue. But Tupac is not a top 10 lyricist imo. He was into a lot of bullshyt and got himself kilt. I don't fukk with him too much just didn't feel the full package, some of his albums didn't sound entertaining. Jay-Z or LL Cool J deserve the spot for GOAT Hip Hop artist imo. But Pac is def. an icon.
Never heard a Beatles album, but what they been able to accomplish is way different. They were around much longer, sold many more records, and part of social/cultural movements larger than what Pac was involved in. But the thing is that Hip Hop is very young, one can't legit compare Beatles and Pac.
In terms of relatively huge artists who changed the game, evolved without losing rawness, and had success, my personal favorites are Mary. J. Blige, DMX, Nas, Killswitch Engage, Hatebreed, In Flames, Death, Missy Elliot, and Linkin Park. Though KSE need to switch it up on next few releases to stay on my list.
