It really is crazy because was always effortlessly cool because he wasn’t trying to be cool. Now he’s putting out trash like this, sad to see.

Fair, but I'd argue that was inauthentic to him. He didn't have to be DMX on the mic, but plenty of rappers have crossed over being mildly vulgar just like he's mildly vulgar in film and he was the biggest movie star in the world for almost 15 years.

I dunno, 9 times out of 10, I just will choose authenticity over a paycheck.

Will always had a long term vision to infiltrate and dominate mainstream culture at an early age, and starting off with no cursing approach was a sound marketing strategy to sell himself to America and separate himself from the stereotypes folks had about rappers.

Over time, Will became even more conscious of his image transitioning to TV to blockbuster action star, which were all unthinkable moves at the time.

Now he doesn’t have an image to protect
