That is only part of the definition, and not the part/context in which it is being used here. The English suffix '-ish', when used as an ethnic/nationality suffix, denotes a 'belonging to' or 'being'. Jew/Jewish, Kurd/Kurdish, Turk/Turkish, Moor/Moorish, etc. A Jew = Jewish. Jewish = A Jew. There is no difference in meaning between "I am a Jew" and "I am Jewish". In English, whether it takes the form of a noun (Jew) or adjective (Jewish) depends whether or not there is an indefinite article preceding the word. Without an indefinite article (a, an), the noun Jew is grammatically incorrect (I am Jew). On the other hand, the adjective Jewish can only be used after an indefinite article assuming it describes a noun (man, woman, etc). "I am a Jewish" is not a complete sentence.
יהודי is the Biblical Hebrew term the English word 'Jewish' is translated from. Unlike English, however, there are no indefinite articles in Hebrew (a, an). For example, if one were to say אני יהודי and carry it over to English without using an indefinite article, יהודי would be an adjective (Jewish) and not a noun (Jew), which means in English it would be rendered 'I am Jewish'; otherwise, with the indefinite article a in place אני יהודי would read: 'I am a Jew'. Only in English (and German, and Yiddish) does the noun and adjective change the suffix. In Hebrew, Jew/Jewish is יהודי regardless. Mordechai is first called איש יהודי, 'Jewish man'. He is also called מרדכי היהודי, 'Mordechai the Jew'.
'Black' is a noun and an adjective. 'Jew' is a noun. Jew/Jewish is basic grammatical yo-yoing between noun and adjective based on the appearance of an indefinite article.

Circumcision in the hospital does not fulfill mitzvas miloh ol pi din Torah. They only perform miloh (removal of the ערלה), but they do not do pri'oh. Moslems also don't do pri'oh. Miloh without pri'oh is an incomplete circumcision and does not fulfill the mitzva as Hashem gave it. The frum who actually observe bris miloh ol pi din Torah are circumcised in shul on the eighth day by a mohel, not by some doctor in the hospital. No one is 'pric[ing]' anyone out; and the way it's routinely done in hospitals is posul anyway.
